JO
JORDON CONSULTING AWARDED Refines and Maintains Emergency Management Database12/28/2000 -- Jo Jordon Consulting (JJC), a high-tech consulting firm to government and private industry, recently received a contract to refine and maintain the data used by the E-911 system for the City of Lowell, Massachusetts. As do most municipalities, Lowell uses a modern electronic 911 (E-911) system for all of their emergency response activities (police, fire and ambulance calls). Upon receipt of a call, the 911 system displays crucial information to the dispatcher about the caller and their location. With the latest version of Palladium911 (R) from Lucent Technologies, the dispatcher also sees the location of the call and emergency response units on a map. This inclusion of GIS (Geographic Information System) technology to show real time events on a map is the latest trend in emergency management systems. "It is critical that accurate information is displayed on the map for the dispatcher so that the call is responded to swiftly and correctly." Stated Jo Jordon, President of Jo Jordon Consulting. Data analysis and maintenance are key components to this process. Established in 1997, Jo Jordon Consulting (JJC) specializes in GIS (Geographic Information System and GPS (Global Positioning System) technologies for wireless telecom, government and marketing applications. JJC has become a key player in emergency management services nationwide. Ms. Jordon and her team have extensive experience in the spatial analysis field and also offer classes in GIS/GPS that may be customized to the clients' needs. Further information may be obtained from the company website at www.TerrAnalysis.com or by calling directly at (203)996-1012.
